1) Sounds of laughter fills the air from far. Putri and I walk together, side by side while searching for the reservation room where Alvin’s fourteenth birthday party is. Holding a box of chocolates on my hands, I see Yulin calls out my name from the pool area. “Natra! Over here!.” Putri and I run quickly, but carefully because the ground was slippery. “Here are your presents, Alvin,” we smiled as we hand the presents to Alvin. Alvin holds it and then bring it to the table where the presents were neatly placed. “Let’s go out and have fun with the rest,” Alvin screamed. We nod as a sign of agreement. Lunch ends after 15 minutes and the boys jump into the pool while the girls who obviously had no extra clothes, sit by the poolside. My eyes stare at the pool and the water stares at me back. The water definitely tempts me. I walk to the pool and thinking that I will only soak my two feet. Here comes the surprise, when I turned my head, I see Yulin running towards me and the next moment, I see myself in the pool. I feel my pocket, I feel my handphone.

2) The green bathroom clock shows eight in the morning. I am proud to tell you that I woke up early today. Mum plans to bring us to a short trip across the border. In the bathroom, I sit on the toilet bowl comfortably reading Teen Vogue and listening to Razorblade by The Strokes. I love The Strokes. So anyway, I on the sprinkler and wash myself up. As I shower, I sing to Middle of Nowhere by Hot Hot Heat. After showering, I open the door and to my astonishment, no one was home. Not one soul. I sense something amiss. I hear a warning tone coming from my handphone. I open the message and this is what it said. “Natra, mum is very sorry for leaving you behind ACCIDENTALLY. Mum thought you had school. I know you will not be happy. In the kitchen drawer, there is $30 for you.”
